The
EAST-SIBERIAN STATE ACADEMY of CULTURE and ARTS
OBJECTIVE
To
preserve and multiply traditions of performing and musical-teaching
schools on the national string and wind instruments of Asian peoples
of the Asia-Pacific region related peoples.
MAIN
TASKS
to strengthen international cultural ties;
to highlight the most gifted and promising performers;
to
contribute to the development of performance on such national string
and wind instruments as:
stringed-bowed
instruments (khur, kyrympa, morin khur, igil, ikili, byzanchi,
khuchir, erkhu, hegym, gydzhak and the like);
stringed-plectrum
instruments (chanza, tansyr, doshpulur, toshpur, kobyz, shanz,
yataga, and the like);
stringed-pizzicato
instruments (yataga, chadagan, chatkhan, kylysakh, dombra, rubab,
dutar, se, tsin, kayagym, syl, tedzhen, konkhu and the like);
stringed-percussion
instruments (iochin, yochin, chang, yangym and the like)
wind
instruments (limba, sunnray, nay, nay-piccolo, sabyzgy, ryuteky,
yuiduk, syao, peysyao, sona, sen, so, tkhephyonso, karnay, khloy,
pey o, tsra pey and the like)
VENUE
The II International competition for the APR performers
on the national strings will be held in
the
East-Siberian State Academy of Culture and Arts (VSGAKI), set in
fascinating town Ulan-Ude, the capital of the Republic of Buryatia,
Russia on May 14-20 2007
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The
competition will be held in two sections:
string
national instruments
wind
national instruments.
Performers
working for concert organizations, theatres, radio and television
companies; students of higher educational establishments and teachers
of secondary musical educational institutions, recommended by the
ministries and departments of culture may participate in the
competition. The age of participants is not limited.
Each applicant should undergo preliminary selection in
his/her organization/educational institution.
To
be admitted to the competition it is necessary to send the following
documents, printed/ typed either in the Russian or English language:
reference
from the ministry/department of culture or the organization leader
(for working performers), higher educational establishment
administration or musical educational institution board (for
teachers and students);
application (see the form enclosed);
musical education document (a copy);
detailed Curriculum Vitae;
detailed
program for the two rounds, where the names and authors of the
pieces to be performed are indicated precisely;
two
recent color glossy photos 10*15 cm
All
the above listed documents must be received no later than April, 5
2007.

The Organising Committee is not responsible for any documents loss
due to the postal service failures.
INVITATION
All those enrolled will be sent official invitationsof
the Organizing Commetee a month before the contest. Official
invitations to the foreign particiapants will be sent earlier to get
Russian visas.
ENTRANCE FEE
100
USD per participant
including:
rehearsal rooms, cultural events
excluding:
meals, hotel and travel expences to Ulan-Ude and back.
WARRANTS
Payment
is to be made personally on arrival in cash, in the Russian currency
roubels at the rate on the payment day.
The
Organising Committee guarantees:
hotel
reservation in Ulan-Ude;
available
rehearsal rooms;
cultural
program.
Participants
of the competition (performers, accompanist leader) and their
teachers pay their fares to Ulan-Ude and back, accommodation in the
hotel
N.B.
On arrival all participants must hand the scores of the pieces they
are going to perform (3 copies) to the Organising Committee. After
the competition they will not be returned.
If
any problems arise they will be solved by
the Organising Committee Chair, rector of
VSGAKI, professor, member of the IHEAS, DDG Raisa Ivanovna
Pshenichnikova.

The
best accompanist leader
All prize-winners are to take part in no more than two
concerts arranged by the Organising Committee at the end of the
competition.
The
Organising Committee has the right to transmit competition works and
final concerts on radio and TV as
well as to audio and video record them and use afterwards
exclusively. All participants renounce to any right and royalty on
the recorded material.
The
competition consists of two rounds. Both rounds will be open to the
public.
The
competitiors order of appearance (unchangable till the
contest ends) will be determined by draw. It is up to the jury to
let those being late for the draw to participate in the competition.
About
50 % of the competitors, who have scored not less than 19 points out
of 25 in the first round, will be admitted to the second round.
JURY
is
going to be formed out of the renowned artists from the Russian
Federation and other countries.
The Jury reserves the right:
not
to assign all prizes;
divide the prizes among the performers;
award
with special prize (s) of the Jury;
discharge the participants performing not according to
the program declared
At
both rounds decisions are taken by secret ballot. The results are
announced in the contest bulletin.
N.B. In case the participant is a pupil of one or more
of the members of the jury, the involved jury member (s) is/are
obliged to withdraw from the evaluation of this participant.
The decision of the jury will be final and beyond
appeal.

total sound duration of the program no more than 15 minutes
2-nd
round

Piece based on the folklore of the country the participant
represents.

Two varied pieces
The
total sound duration of three pieces - no more than 20 minutes.
The
succession of performing the pieces in each round is set by the
participant himself and is noted in application form.
CONTROVERSY
The
Organizing Committee may decide to make minor changes to the present
Regulations if any doubts arise from the translation into foreign
languages, only the text in Russian will be valid.
